Constructed in the late 1930’s, Martin State Airport played an active role in the WWII production of military aircraft and aircraft components.  

The airport is home to Maryland’s Air National Guard (MDANG), an extensive air base comprising citizen-airmen who help maintain the nation’s capability to meet worldwide mobility deployment requirements.
